Retro Achievement Mastery 237 - Who Wants to Be a Millionaire 1st Edition
At this point that's barely any money, and they take 80% of it for taxes anyway
The Wii rollout is now in full effect. I have to get like 50 something points in order to get a special event badge. 1 for a beat, 2 for a mastery, but some games are doubled. I won’t show all the games I played, because some of them I only beat. In fact…. Most of them! I beat 21 games for the Wii over the course of a few months, and only mastered 9 of them. Those beats are for more complicated games like Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter, and Xeno Blade, though I got REALLY close to mastering Xenoblade I just got tired of grinding. And all the games I actually fully mastered are games like uh… this. So don’t expect very much Mario or Zelda in this list. This is mostly shovelware.
Every console has to have its game show simulations, right? Good shit. This one is specifically British, which fucked me over a lot. I remember one question about the breeds of Welsh sheep and I was like “this is the most UK thing ever”.
Other than that, it’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Regis Not Philbin up there asks you a question, you get 4 choices, 3 not fully consistent lifelines (though they never failed me in this game), and like 20 questions until you become a fake millionaire. I just like trivia, honestly.
Honestly the best part of this game was the mastery icon. RA devs have a tendency to make game show icons this kinda thing, where they take the host and stretch them zoomed in so it’s a block of face. It’s silly.
