Game

So like I had said, there was a pretty large gap for masteries for me. I mastered My QLDC Hack in November, then Ambulation in late February. Three months of basically nothing. With me finally returned to the world of achievements, I returned in a kind of wild way. I was really in the mood for some Pokemon.

The next four masteries are ALL Pokemon gen 1. If you’ve been keeping an eye on this series, you’ll note that this is not anything new. In November 2024, I decided I wanted to try a Professor Oak Challenge and beat Pokemon Blue in a very grindy way. Then, in April of 2025, I mastered Pokemon Red. Well, since then, they decided to make the different versions split into different sets, so I could go out of my way to master Red AND Blue, so I did. I mastered Blue.

This DOES mean I need to do a Pokemon Red Prof Oak Challenge sometime but uh, that’s like, 2028 Liz’s problem.

Game

Pokemon is a game that- Oh who am I fucking kidding, you know what Pokemon is.

I’ll be honest, one of the reasons I haven’t been writing these reviews much lately is because I have nothing to say. I’VE ALREADY BASICALLY REVIEWED GEN 1 TWO TIMES BEFORE, AND I HAVE THREE MASTERIES TO TALK ABOUT IT AFTER THIS.

This set was a lot easier though, honestly, than Blue’s. And MUCH quicker. I finished it in 14 hours. Compare that to Red, which took me 19 hours. A lot of that was because Red had super grindy achievements, level based achievements, achievements for beating the elite four with specific loadouts of teams, SOLO running the Elite Four. Blue just has things like get all the items and beat all the trainers. Much more reasonable. (If you’re curious, the Professor Oak’s Challenge took me 25 hours to finish. I have played too much gen 1. It’s NOT EVEN MY FAVORITE GEN.)

Also important to note, I could just glitch, and I did. Infinite items, here I come!

It sure is Pokemon. Time to talk about it a lot more.
